Rie was born and raised in Wakayama, Japan. After graduating from high school, she moved abroad, living in Honolulu, New York City, and Tokyo before returning to Hawaii in 2017.

Rie graduated from FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York City with a degree in Fashion Merchandising Management, then spent over 20 years in the fashion industry in New York and Tokyo. She excelled in her positions in sales, purchasing, and trading, through which she gained strong negotiation skills, knowledge of market analysis, and a deep understanding of international business customs. She enjoyed attending major international apparel / home trade shows every season, held in New York, Las Vegas, Paris, and Milan, where she developed her senses of art and design.

Rie’s strong cross-cultural customer service and relationship-building skills, coupled with her knowledge of the industry and dedication to research, drives her to find the best possible fit for each valued client’s new home. Engaging on a personal level with both buyers and sellers, Rie develops long-lasting relationships that begin with establishing trust and end with “Welcome home”.
